Charges Laid After Male Found Asleep Behind The Wheel

KAWARTHA LAKES-An investigation conducted by the Kawartha Lakes OPP into a complaint related to a suspicious vehicle led to the arrest of the driver.

Police say just after 6:00 this morning officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP attended the area of Tracey’s Hill Road and Sturgeon Road where they located a parked vehicle whose lone occupant was asleep in the driver’s seat. The ensuing investigation led the officers to believe that this person had been consuming alcohol.

As a result of the investigation Wyatt Stinson, 25 years of age, of Scugog was arrested and now faces the Criminal Code related offence of operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). Stinson was further charged with novice driver – B.A.C. above zero, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on April 15, 2021.
