KAWARTHA LAKES-The Haliburton Kawartha Pines Ridge (HKPR)District Health Unit says the Coronavirus outbreak at Crossfit in Lindsay has grown.
“As of today’s date, there have been a total of 8 confirmed cases associated with an outbreak at a local fitness facility.” Chandra Tremblay, Communications HKPR told Kawartha 411 News.
An outbreak was declared at the facility on March 5th after one positive case in a coach at the facility.
The fitness facility decided on its own to close for two weeks as a way of protecting its staff and clientele and stopping any potential spread of the virus within the community according to the health unit.
“As part of the follow-up with confirmed cases, Health Unit staff ask anyone who has tested positive to identify where they had spent time in the couple of weeks prior to testing positive and locations they had visited during their period of communicability.” Tremblay explained.
