Virtual Winterfest Raises Over $24,000 To Help Support Local Kids

KAWARTHA LAKES-Five Counties Virtual Winterfest 2021 event raised $24,561 to help support local kids!

On February 12 – 15 we celebrated Family Day weekend virtually with our signature Winterfest event. Winterfest 2021 offered craft demos, musical entertainment, contests, kids’ activities and much more family fun to over 800 families who joined us on the event site.

Canadian Tire stores in Peterborough, Lindsay, Cobourg, Campbellford and Fenelon Falls joined forces as our lead sponsor to help make this event possible. Local owner Ralph Moulton noted that “Five Counties Children’s Centre is a part of all of our area’s Canadian Tire communities. We felt it was important that we come together to support our kids and hope you will join us.”

Many local businesses, groups and individuals donated items for the online auction portion of the event and helped raise $3,695 for the more than 4,000 kids who receive treatment from Five Counties Children’s Centre each year.

“Our Winterfest event is all about kids and their families as is Five Counties Children’s Centre.” said CEO Scott Pepin. “The Centre continues to be an essential service in lockdown. Your support helps ensure that although Winterfest isn’t an in-person event this year, it will still bring us together to support the kids who rely on our staff now and in future.”

“Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the event, we look forward to seeing you all next year!”
