Police Investigating Robbery At Bank Of Montreal in Lindsay This Afternoon

UPDATE: ARREST MADE

KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha Lakes Police Service is investigating an afternoon robbery at the Bank Of Montreal in Lindsay.

There’s a sign on the door saying the branch is closed. It’s unclear if there were any customers in the bank at the time of the incident.

Police say on February 18, 2021 at 1:09pm the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded to a robbery call at a bank located on William Street in Lindsay. An unknown suspect entered the bank, approached a teller with a note indicating he had a gun and demanded cash. After receiving a quantity of cash, the suspect left the bank on foot in a westbound direction.

31-year-old Travis Sprague of Lindsay has been charged with:

  • Robbery with violence
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Disguise with intent
  • Fail to comply with probation X3

The accused was held in custody to attend a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay.
