City Of Kawartha Lakes Police Officer Tests Positive For Coronavirus

KAWARTHA LAKES-A City of Kawartha Lakes Police officer assigned to the Support Services Division has tested positive for COVID-19.

Police say this is the first positive case at the Kawartha Lakes Police Service during the pandemic. 

As a result of the positive test, officials are working with Kawartha Haliburton Public Health to ensure proper contact tracing is completed. The infected officer and three additional officers are currently self-isolating and following health guidelines. 

Police say the officer tested positive on Saturday. Ross Memorial Hospital and staff of the Kawartha Lakes Paramedics Service quickly arranged and conducted over 40 COVID tests on staff on Sunday, all with negative results according to the police service.
