KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha Lakes Police have seized guns, drugs, cash and ballistic body armour after executing a search warrant in Clarington.
During the month of January, the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service and surrounding police services have been investigating a rash of thefts throughout multiple jurisdictions according to police.Â
Following an investigation, a search warrant was executed in the early morning hours of, Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at a property located in Clarington, Ontario. Members of the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, Criminal Investigations Branch, Street Crime Unit and Drug Unit with the support of members of the Durham Regional Police Service, Street Crime Unit, Property Crime Officers, Uniform Patrol, and K9 Officers.
As a result of the search, police seized; Salem travel trailer, Yamaha All-terrain vehicle, ballistic body armour, 14.8grams of Methamphetamine, 57 tablets of Oxycodone, 12 Gauge shotgun, 38 Caliber handgun, ammunition, quantity of cash and a cellphone according to police. Â
The following persons have been charged and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay.Â
39-year-old Jerry Holroyd, of Port Hope, is charged with the following:
- Possession of a Prohibited/Restricted WeaponÂ
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm X2
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Breach of Firearm RegulationÂ
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of a Controlled Substance X2
- Breach of Recognizance
- Fail to Comply with Probation oOrder
- Failure to Comply with Release Order
65-year-old Gary Holroyd, of Clarington, is charged with the following:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
38-year-old John Carlton of Bowmanville, is charged with the following:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $500
