Driver Facing Charges After Reportedly Fleeing From Police

PETERBOROUGH- Peterborough County OPP says officers attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on Highway 115 at approximately 2:45am yesterday morning.

According to police the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and exited the highway at Tapley ¼ Line. The vehicle was located by officers but the driver fled on foot. Police say the driver was identified prior to fleeing and was arrested yesterday evening.

Terry Amos (age 34) of Cavan-Monaghan Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

·      Flight from peace officer

·      Dangerous operation

·      Race a motor vehicle-excessive speed

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on February 9, 2021.
