Arrest Made In “Porch Pirate” Theft In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 41 year old man is facing charges after an Amazon package was allegedly stolen from the porch of a home in Lindsay.

Police say on November 19, 2020 at approximately 4:30PM, a man stole a package that was left on the front porch of a Wellington Street home in Lindsay.  The theft, and the suspect’s image were captured on a security surveillance system at the residence. 

According to police the investigating officer was able to determine the identity of the suspect, and on November 21 he was arrested. 

41-year-old Jason David Gerrow of Lindsay has been charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and failing to comply with the conditions of his probation order. 

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on January 21, 2021
