KAWARTHA LAKES-A recent traffic complaint received by the Kawartha Lakes OPP resulted in the arrest of a local resident who now faces multiple charges.
Police say on November 8, 2020 an OPP officer responded to a traffic complaint pertaining to a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner. The officer located the suspect vehicle on Kirkfield Road and the ensuing stop led to the arrest of the driver, Mark Owen, 50 years of age, who was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to the Criminal Code
- Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on January 14, 2021.
