KAWARTHA LAKES-Two Lindsay residents face multiple charges after the vessel they were operating hit a dock and ran aground near a residence on Leslie Frost Lane.

Police say on September 3, 2020, just after midnight, officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP attended the area after a resident reported they observed a 33 foot cabin cruiser vessel run aground and strike a dock.

The ensuing investigation indicated that two persons were on board at the time of the incident. Further investigation revealed the presence of fentanyl, cocaine and cannabis according to police.

Peter Jackman, 53 years of age is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking – cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking – opioid, other than heroin, contrary to the CDSA

Jackman was charged with a similar offence in June. Police say officers were investigating the alleged sale of drugs from a boat that was moored along Rivera Park in the Scugog River in Lindsay. Police seized crack cocaine and fentanyl as well as almost $15,000 cash.

Jackman was arrested and charged with possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, and two counts of trafficking a controlled substance.
