KAWARTHA LAKES-A 52 year old Lindsay man is facing a number of charges after being pulled over by police.
Police say on September 4, 2019 a City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service constable observed a truck being operated by a driver the officer knew to be a prohibited driver.
The pick up truck was stoppped on Wellington Street in Lindsay in order to investigate further. The officer says during his interaction with the driver, they located stolen property and several types of controlled substances in the vehicle.
The driver of the truck, 52 year old Peter Lynn Jackman was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, three counts of driving while disqualified, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose ot trafficking.
Jackman appears to have been charged with similar offences a number of times.
In 2014 Â police reported a large quantity of crack cocaine with an estimated street value of approximately $3000 was seized from a Lindsay man.
According to police Jackman was observed operating a vehicle in a Durham Street parking lot while disqualified from driving. The officer strategically blocked the vehicle preventing it from leaving the parking lot. The driver fled the vehicle on foot, visibly carrying something in his hand. Jackman was arrested a short distance later and police said he was found to be in possession of a large quantity of crack cocaine and a small quantity of crack cocaine was also seized from the driver’s seat of the Mazda he was operating. Mr. Jackman was also  wanted on a Family Court arrest warrant after failing to appear for a scheduled court date according to police.
In 2015 he was one of two men charged after they were allegedly observed entering a vehicle on Lindsay St. South in Lindsay. Subsequent investigation lead to the seizure of approximately $1100.00 in crack cocaine, that was packaged for sale and almost $3500.00 in cash according to police
Jackman was held for a bail hearing on charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking – crack cocaine, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00, Failing to comply with a condition of a probation order, 2 counts of driving while disqualified under the criminal code and 2 counts of driving while under suspension under the Highway Traffic Act.
In 2016 he was arrested and charged with assault and failing to comply with a condition of a probation order.
