Canine unit catches suspect after OPP respond to alarm call at business on Highway 7A

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Canine unit was called in to assist after Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to an alarm call where a suspect was located and arrested.

Police say just before 2:00a.m. on September 1, OPP officers responded to an alarm call at a business located on Highway 7A. Upon arrival the officers noted that a window had allegedly been smashed and it appeared as though entry had been gained to the building.

The OPP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) members and Canine unit attended the scene to assist the front line officers. A suspect was located on the property and was subsequently arrested.

Zacarias Camara, 51 years of age, has been charged with Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit an indictable offence and Fail to Comply with Probation Order – 2 counts.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay later today.
