Impaired driving charges laid on local roads and waterways over the weekend

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP was on patrol on area road, trails and waterways over the long-weekend.

Police say on August 1, 2020 just after 2:00p.m. officers on marine patrol on Balsam Lake approached a vessel and determined that the operator had allegedly been consuming alcohol. The ensuing investigation led to the arrest of Timothy Teel, 43 years of age, who was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on October 15, 2020.

Also on August 1, 2020 just before 8:30p.m. an officer responded to a traffic complaint related to a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner on Portage Road. The officer located the vehicle and the ensuing investigation resulted in the driver, Natasha Robinson 30 years of age, of Markham, being arrested and charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on October 1, 2020.
