Rainfall Warning issued for parts of Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Rainfall Warning for parts of Kawartha Lakes.

The Rainfall Warning is in effect for:
  • Apsley – Woodview – Northern Peterborough County
  • Fenelon Falls – Balsam Lake Park – Northern Kawartha Lakes

Persons in or near this area should be on the lookout for adverse weather conditions and take necessary safety precautions according to Environment Canada.

There is also a Special Weather Statement in effect for:

  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County

Heavy rainfall is expected today as an area of low pressure intensifies and tracks northeastward across Southern Ontario.

General amounts of 20 to 40 mm are expected with locally up to 50 mm possible with thunderstorms.
