Impaired driving charges laid after crash on Snug Harbour Road

KAWARTHA LAKES-The driver involved in a single vehicle collision was arrested and now faces multiple charges after a police investigation.

Police say on July 24, 2020 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP were called to the scene of the collision on Snug Harbour Road just before 9:30p.m. The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was transported to a local area hospital via ambulance with minor injuries according to police.

The ensuing investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Kody Kearley, 30 years of age, who now faces the following Criminal Code related charges:

  • Operation while impaired – drug alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on October 1, 2020.
