Lindsay man facing charges after alleged early morning drug deal in parking lot

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Lindsay man is facing charges after a concerned citizen reported witnessesing what they believed to be a drug transaction in a parking lot Friday morning. .

The call came in on July 17 with the caller saying they believed a drug transaction took place between the driver of a truck and a pedestrian in a parking lot on Lindsay Street South.

At 10:15AM an officer located the alleged truck and initiated an investigation.  The officer determined the driver of the truck was in possession of a controlled substance and placed him under arrest.

48-year-old Peter Gerald Houghton of Lindsay has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on September 10, 2020.
