Ornge air ambulance lands at former Northern Plastics factory in Lindsay

UPDATE:Police say this is a workplace fatality.

KAWARTHA LAKES-ORNGE air ambulance has landed at the former Northern Plastics factory in Lindsay after what appears to be some sort of incident.

Police say on Tuesday June 30 at approximately 2:30PM the Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded with Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service and Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service to an industrial address on St. David Street in Lindsay, after a worker at the facility suffered a workplace injury.

“Unfortunately, the injured worker’s injuries were fatal and they were pronounced deceased at the scene.” said Sgt. Dave Murtha in a press release on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development was notified of the incident, and an inspector attended to investigate. The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
