Novice driver facing alcohol related charges after being pulled over in Fenelon Falls

KAWARTHA LAKES-A novice driver is facing alcohol related charges after being pulled over by police in Fenelon Falls.

Police say on June 9th at approximately 11:00p.m. an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP was patrolling on Helen Street in Fenelon Falls when a vehicle was observed being operated in an aggressive manner.

The officer stopped the vehicle and the subsequent investigation led to the driver, a 20 year old Wasaga Beach resident, being charged with the following offences:

  • Novice driver – B.A.C above zero, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act

A novice driver is generally a new driver who has restrictions on their licence.
