KAWARTHA LAKES-A Lindsay man and a Toronto man are facing charges after a stabbing in Lindsay on Easter weekend.
Police say on Friday April 10, 2020 at approximately 3:15AM, a fight erupted between a group of people inside an apartment on Lindsay Street North in Lindsay. During the incident, one man suffered a stab wound, and was also struck in the head with a blunt object according to police.
The victim was able to leave the apartment, and was later taken to a hospital by paramedics for treatment of serious injuries.
The Kawartha Lakes Police Service Uniform Branch, in cooperation with the Criminal Investigation Branch, commenced an investigation and identified two men allegedly responsible for the assault.
On Wednesday April 15, 2020 both men were arrested. 25-year-old Michael Thomas of Lindsay has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, aggravated assault and failing to comply with the conditions of his probation order. 39-year-old Anthony Lorne Dorsey of Toronto has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts of failing to comply with the conditions of his probation order.
