Secondary students protest school board cancellation of sports and other extracurricular activities

KAWARTHA LAKES-A group of secondary students in Lindsay protested the Trillium Lakelands District School Boards cancellation of school-day sports and extracurriculars. The board is the only one in Ontario to take this step in response to ongoing labour negotiations.

The Board says the move was necessary because of a work to rule campaign by teachers who will no longer be covering for colleagues who are absent. The students aren’t buying it.
