Local man charged with driving while under suspension and impaired

KAWARTHA LAKES-A local man whose licence was under two suspensions has been charged with impaired driving.

Police say on January 21, 2020 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP was patrolling on Kawartha Lakes Road 8 near Cosh’s Road and initiated a vehicle stop in order to ascertain the status of the driver.

Investigation indicated that the driver’s licence was under two suspensions. As a result, Terry Carver, 52 years of age, was arrested and charged with Operation while prohibited, contrary to the Criminal Code and Driving while under suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The vehicle was towed from the scene to be impounded for 45 days due to a previous outstanding suspension.
