Local youth facing numerous weapons related charges after incident on Elm Tree Road

KAWARTHA LAKES-A local youth faces multiple weapons related charges after an incident on Elm Tree Road.

On January 4, 2020, officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to a call related to a youth who had allegedly pointed a pellet gun at multiple persons and then used the weapon to damage the vehicle according to police

On arrival at the residence, officers quickly identified a 16 year old suspect who was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Armed robbery
  • Uttering threats
  • Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose
  • 2 counts of mischief
  • 3 counts of assault with a weapon
  • Fail to comply with recognizance
  • Fail to comply with undertaking

The youth cannot be identified under the young offenders act.
