The fire broke out just before 1pm today. Witnesses say there isn’t much left of the building but the fire department has not confirmed that. It’s unclear if the restaurant was open at the time.

The Restaurant opened in 1982. In 1997, Lindsay was used as a backdrop to the filming of “A Cool Dry Place“. Derry Restaurant was used in several scenes in the movie, one in which a car crashes through the front of the restaurant.

The highway is closed and residents are asked to stay away from the area.
