Toronto man “wanted” on outstanding warrant found in possession of stolen vehicle in Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Toronto man is facing charges after an astute Kawartha Lakes Police officer recognized him as a “wanted” man.

Police say on December 11, 2019 at 3:30PM investigators with the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service were at a residence on Lindsay Street north speaking with witnesses about a recent incident. An officer observed a man arrive at the residence who the officer allegedly knew to be “wanted” on the strength of an outstanding warrant. The man was arrested and further investigation revealed that the man was in possession of a stolen vehicle.

Charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and four counts of failing to comply with the conditions of his probation order is 24-year-old Michael Thomas of Toronto.
