Huge police operation near Kinmount Monday night

KAWARTHA LAKES-Under the cover of darkness a number of undercover police, SWAT and what appeared to be other law enforcement wearing green tactical gear descended on a remote property near Kinmount on Monday night.

Witnesses told Kawartha 411 it looked like they were going to war.

“There was a patty van/swat van sitting at the dump. I saw about 8 guys run in single file to it, all dressed for war.  I heard them loading up guns and what not, kinda scary.” said one man who witnssed it all but wanted to remain anonymous.  “Then another group of guys and pick up trucks showed up and go into about 3 trucks all together, had to be over 20 cops.”

The witness told Kawartha 411 News some of the officers were in all green “swat gear” marching in single file and another group was in all black gear.

It all went down on Crystal Lake Road just off of Kawartha Lakes 121 at approximately 6:15 pm in a heavily wooded area.

We contacted the OPP on Monday night but have not had a response.
Adding to the mystery the witness says conservation officers were seen in the area this past week with ATV’s.
