Lockdown at Fenelon Falls Secondary School, Langton on Hold and Secure

KAWARTHA LAKES-Fenelon Falls Secondary School was placed on lockdown and Langton Public School on Hold and Secure this morning shortly after 8:15am.

The OPP says at approximately 8:08 a.m. the OPP became aware of a general threat related to a school in Fenelon Falls. No other details have been released by police.

The lockdown at FFSS was lifted at approximately 10:10am  but both schools remain on hold and secure while police continue their investigation. The hold and secure at both schools was lifted at 12:30 and classes resumed.

Kawartha 411 has learned the K9 unit was on the scene. Police dispute that.

Police have not released any information.

The school board asked people not to contact the schools, children have been advised not to use their phones until further notice.

There were no injuries related to this incident. The school board says this is now a police matter.
