Whitby man charged in Lindsay shooting

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 25 year old Whitby man is facing charges after a shooting at the Wedgwood Park apartments on William Street N in Lindsay early Wednesday morning.

On September 27, 2019, with assistance provide by the Durham Regional Police Service, the suspect in a shooting that occurred in Lindsay on September 25, 2019 was arrested.

25-year-old Nathan Wallis of Whitby has been charged with assault with a weapon, carrying a firearm in a careless manner, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, two counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order and failing to comply with a recognizance.

The accused was held in custody to attend a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street west in Lindsay.

The victim is in stable condition in hospital.
