KAWARTHA LAKES-Five acres of grass and brush burned on Maple Grove Trail between Bobcaygeon and Dunsford on Monday afternoon.
Crews were called to the blaze at approximately 2:30pm. Firefighters from Dunsford, Ops and Bobcaygeon were called in to help extinguish the flames and keep the fire from spreading further.
Deputy Chief Ron Raymer told Kawartha 411 that the homeowner had a burn permit but the fire got away on him. There were no injuries and no damage to property.
With the dry conditions Raymer is reminding residents to keep a close eye when burning and not leave fires unattended.
