Alleged aggressive driving leads to charges

KAWARTHA LAKES-A local resident is facing charges after reports of a aggressive driving.

Police say on July 15, 2019 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to a call related to an aggressive driver on Highway 7 near Mount Horeb Road.

Exceeding the posted speed limit, following too closely, erratic/unsafe lane changes, failure to obey traffic signs/signals and road rage are all forms of aggressive driving according to OPP.

The officer located and stopped the vehicle. The driver, Liam Ritter, 24 years of age, of the City of Kawartha Lakes, was charged with Pass – off roadway, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Police are reminding residents to be patient and polite while on the roads during the busy summer months.
