Passing unmarked cruiser leads to numerous charges

KAWARTHA LAKES-A recent vehicle stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police resulted in the arrest of the driver for multiple offences.

Police say on April 2nd an OPP officer was operating an unmarked cruiser on Highway 35 when a vehicle passed the cruiser at a high rate of speed.

This vehicle was subsequently stopped and the ensuing investigation resulted in the driver, Davis Fallis, 55 years of age, being charged with the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus), contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Operation While Prohibited, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Drive While Suspended contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Drive motor vehicle with liquor readily available, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act
  • Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on May 9, 2019.
