Lindsay man facing drug and alcohol charges after vehicle stop on Hwy 7

KAWARTHA LAKES-On Monday March 18th 2019 at approximately 5:25pm a Central Region Traffic Unit member of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a traffic complaint of an erratic driver on Highway 7 in the area of Tracey’s Hill Road. The vehicle was stopped just north of Highway 7 on Kawartha Lakes Road 36.

Following an investigation, the driver, Wade Suplat, 46 years of age of Lindsay, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the CDSA
