Officer injured after two OPP cruisers collide

KAWARTHA LAKES-An OPP officer received minor injuries after two OPP cruisers collided this morning.

Police say the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police and emergency crews were called to assist at a collision shortly before 10:00am this morning on Monk Road between Taylor Road and Hills Road.

Police had just left a domestic disturbance when two OPP cruisers collided. One officer has been treated and released from an area hospital with minor injuries. The second officer and his two canine partners were uninjured in the crash.

Monk Road will remain closed for several hours while members trained in collision reconstruction measure and document the scene.
