Criminal charges laid after vehicle stop in Janetville

KAWARTHA LAKES- A local male was arrested and now faces two Criminal Code charges, after the vehicle he was operating on Janetville Road was stopped on February 14, 2019.

50 year old Richie Dupe has been charged with failing to comply with probation order and operation while prohibited, both contrary to the Criminal Code. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on March14, 2019.

Also on February 14, 2019 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP was on patrol in the Bobcaygeon area and stopped a vehicle on Canal Street, East. The ensuing investigation revealed that the driver, Danny Nugent, 50 years of age, was charged with the following offences:

  • Driving while under suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle, contrary to the HTA
  • Fail to have insurance card, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on April 2, 2019.
