Woman charged with impaired driving after two collisions

KAWARTHA LAKES-A woman from Ops Township is facing impaired driving charges after she was allegedly involved in two collisions.

Police say on Wednesday January 30th at 4:39pm the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service received the report of a collision that occurred between two vehicles at the intersection of Wellington Street and Lindsay Street in Lindsay.The attending officer began an investigation and learned that one of the two drivers had allegedly been involved in a separate collision approximately thirty minutes previous on Queen Street in Lindsay. 

The officer formed the grounds to believe that the driver’s ability to operate a vehicle was impaired by a drug and arrested her.  After further investigation the woman was charged impaired operation of a motor vehicle.  32-year-old Christine Nicole Rombough of the former Ops Township will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice Lindsay on March 7, 2019.
