KAWARTHA LAKES-Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP, along with Fire and Ambulance, attended a collision on Pigeon Lake Road on Wednesday.

Police say the initial investigation indicated that a vehicle travelling West bound lost control on the icy road, crossed the centre line and collided with an East bound vehicle. The driver of the East bound vehicle, a 57 year old local male, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the West bound vehicle, a 17 year old local male, was initially taken to a local hospital but was then transported via Ornge ambulance to a Toronto area hospital with life threatening injuries.

The OPP’s Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) unit attended the scene to assist with the investigation. Pigeon Lake Road was closed for several hours during this investigation.
