Police investigating overnight shooting in Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-City of Kawartha Lakes Police are investigating a shooting believed to have taken place in Lindsay overnight.

Police say a 27 year old male arrived at the Ross Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound. The level of injury is yet to be determined. The victim is being transferred to a GTA hospital. The victim’s injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

According to officers it appears that the shooting occurred somewhere in the Lindsay area, although the location of the shooting remains undetermined. The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service is appealing for any witnesses to the shooting, or anyone who may have heard a disturbance during an estimated time frame of between 2:30 am and 3 am, to contact our police service or Crime Stoppers.

The CKL Police forensics vehicle in on the scene at the corner of William and Bond St. Kawartha Lakes Police chief Mark Mitchell confirms it is relation to the shooting but cannot say for sure yet if the incident took place here.

The investigation is continuing.
