OPP responded to more than 10 collisions on Tuesday afternoon

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP say they responded to more than ten collisions during the Tuesday afternoon commute home. ” It is imperative that drivers be patient when the weather creates challenges such as icy roads and reduced visibility.” says OPP Const. Carrie Lanning.

With the arrival of the winter weather, the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP is reminding  motorists to be prepared.

Lanning says drivers can do their part to keep the roads safe by simply remembering to slow down, leave extra space between vehicles and allow extra travel time for getting to their destination. Motorists may also consider keeping items such as blankets, a first aid kit and phone charger in the vehicle in order to be prepared for winter travel.
