911 down Province wide for Police

UPDATE:As of 6:45 pm, the 9-1-1 issue has been resolved for the Peterborough Police.  The system is now back up and running.  Peterborough Police would like to thank the public for their assistance and understanding as we worked through this issue.

KAWARTHA LAKES-Peterborough Police say the 911 system is down Province wide for Police.

Peterborough Police is advising the public that there is a province wide 9-1-1 systems issue that is preventing some calls from reaching the police.  While the issue is being addressed and corrected, the public is asked to refrain from calling 9-1-1 unless in an extreme emergency.  It is believed that only the police are effected, and not fire or ambulance.

Peterborough Police are asking residents to only call in an extreme emergency.

In Lindsay area if you can’t get through on 911 you can call CKL Police at 705-324-5252 or the OPP at 705-876-1122. In Peterborough you are asked to call police directly at 705-876-1122 x 225.
