Several charges laid after vehicle drives into group of pedestrians in Bobcaygeon

KAWARTHA LAKES-Two people are facing charges after a pedestrian was hit on Head Street in Bobcaygeon.

Police say on November 11th  at approximately 3:50 am City of Kawartha Lakes emergency services personnel, including officers from the CKL detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, responded to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Head Street in Bobcaygeon.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle was allegedly driven towards pedestrians resulting in one pedestrian being struck. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Involved parties were known to each other according to police

Following an investigation, arrested and charged with the following offences is:

Brandon William Finlay, 23 years of age of Lindsay:

  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 249(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
  • Assault with a Weapon contrary to section 267(a) CCC
  • Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident contrary to section 252 CCC

Heather Harding, 21 years of age of Lindsay:

  • Assault with a Weapon contrary to section 267(a) CCC
