KAWARTHA LAKES-Hydro One says about 500 residents in the Bethany area remain without power after three days of stormy weather.
One Bethany resident contacted Kawartha 411 saying they have been without hydro since Saturday. The family has a new baby and no relatives nearby to stay with.
According to Hydro One this area is scheduled to have power restored by Tuesday at 6pm but that could change depending on progress made by crews in the area.
40,000 people remain without power in the Province while more than 200,000 have had the lights turned back on. Representatives for Hydro one told Kawartha 411 that 589 separate outages were called in during the storm.
A powerful spring storm brought snow, ice pellets, freezing rain and rain to the area over the weekend and into Monday. Tree’s came down brining hydro lines with them in some areas. Roads were icy and treacherous.
