No Merry Christmas for Suzy Shier employees in Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Suzy Shier store at the Lindsay Square Mall is closing today.

Staff at the store told Kawartha 411 News that a combination of the impending increase in minimum wage, rent and online shopping contributed to the closure.

A number of staff will be out of work when the doors close for good later today.

Suzy Shier opened it’s doors in 1966 and now have about 140 stores across the country. It’s unclear if other stores across Canada will face the same demise.

The company could not be reached over the holiday for comment.
