Driver allegedly tests twice the legal limit after crash near Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 30-year-old Little Britain man is facing charges after a crash on Elm Tree Road on Tuesday night.

Police responded to a call for a pickup truck that was on its’ side in the ditch on Elm Tree Road just South of Cross Creek.  Upon arrival, they say the officer noted that there were approximately 130 metres of skid marks that started in the southbound lane of Elm Tree Road and then led up to the truck. When the officer spoke with the driver of the truck, they immediately detected an odour of alcohol on his breath according to police. The man was arrested and then taken to KLPS where he provided samples of his breath. Police say the man registered readings in excess of two times the legal limit.

30-year-old Johnathan Avery of Little Britain has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Exceeding the Legal Limit of Alcohol in his blood.
