96 year old Curve Lake WWII veteran shares story of strength and resilience

KAWARTHA LAKES-96 year old Murray Whetung is one of the few remaining WWII Veterans. He married his childhood sweetheart Elva on February 14th, before he shipped out, and when he returned they went on to have 13 children. Murray grew up in Curve Lake and raised his family there. He has a wonderful sense of humour and that’s partially what got him through the war. We sat down with Murray to hear some of his stories and remember the sacrifices he and others made for our freedom. Remembrance Day is November 11th, Lest We Forget.
