UPDATE: Charges laid after police stand-off in Bobcaygeon

KAWARTHA LAKES- Police with guns drawn were at an apartment building on Main Street in Bobcaygeon for hours overnight.

The OPP says officers were called to a disturbance on Bolton Street in Bobcaygeon early Sunday September 3rd.

Officers investigated at scene and learned that a male had allegedly threatened and assaulted persons in the area and then left. He was identified and subsequently located at his residence. A warrant to enter the premises was later obtained.

Witnesses tell Kawartha 411 a man was holed up the the building while Police tried to get him to come out. We have video of a man being taken into custody just before 9:30 am Sunday morning.

29 year old Benjamin Boadway of Bobcaygeon was arrested and charged with the following offences:

Assault contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
Uttering Threats contrary to section 264.1(1) CCC (two counts)
Unlawfully in a Dwelling House contrary to section 349(1) CCC
Fail to Comply with Probation contrary to section 733.1(1) CCC
