Syringe used as weapon in robbery

PETERBOROUGH-A 24 year old Peterborough man is facing charges after he allegedly used a syringe as a weapon in a robbery.

Police were called to the area of Charlotte Street for a robbery on On August 25th at approximately 3:20 p.m. It was reported that while the victim, a man in his 20’s, was in the area earlier that day the accused brandished a syringe, threatened to destroy his property and robbed him of a large amount of cash.

Police say the victim and the accused know each other.

The accused was identified and on August 29th  a warrant was issued for his arrest and police saw his walking in the area of George Street North the next day where he was arrested and charged.

24 year old Randy Lee Vilneff of Lansdowne Street East, is charged with, Robbery with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats – damage property and fail to comply with a probation order.
