Convenience store in Lindsay robbed at knifepoint

KAWARTHA LAKES-A convenience store in the Lindsay area was robbed at knifepoint on Tuesday August 8th according to police.

Kawartha Lakes police say a male armed with a knife entered the convenience store and demanded money from the store clerk. The male fled the store on foot after allegedly taking money from the till.

Witnesses alerted police to the suspects location and he was arrested by officers. No one was injured.

33-year-old Lindsay resident John Carl Hickson has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, disguise with intent and failing to comply with his probation order. Hickson was held to attend a bail hearing and was later remanded into the custody of the Central East Correctional Centre.
