19 year old killed in crash near Hastings

PETERBOROUGH-A 19 year old from Trent Hills has died after a single vehicle crash on Peterborough County Road 45 North of the village of Hastings on Friday night.

Emergency crews were called just before 9pm when a passerby noticed a car that had rolled into the ditch. The witness got out of their vehicle to assist and located the female driver who had allegedly been ejected from the vehicle. The driver was airlifted to a Toronto area trauma centre with grave injuries according to police.

Peterborough County Road 45 was closed for several hours while OPP members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

On Saturday,August 5, 2017 19 year old Cassidey Rae Ouellette of Trent Hills passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

Cassidey was studying Dental Hygiene at Durham College according to her Facebook page.
