Fleming College students scammed out of $800 each

Two students from Fleming College were scammed after promises of specialized training for people looking for work in the oil fields didn’t materialize.

On April 22nd, 2017 the two students went to Lindsay area gravel pit to receive what they believed was going to be specialized training to help them prepare for employment.

Both men had paid $800.00 each for the training, but when they arrived at the pit allegedly there was no one present. The men became concerned and soon determined that there was no course and they had been ripped off.

The investigation is continuing as police are trying to locate the person responsible for the scam.
