KAWARTHAS-Gary L. of Indian River is celebrating after winning an $80,000 prize with a THE 80s SCRATCH ticket.
Gary said he’s been a loyal lottery player since OLG’s inception. He enjoys playing a variety of games, including LOTTO MAX, LOTTO 6/49, and INSTANT tickets, and is delighted to be celebrating his first big win.
On Thursdays, Gary typically meets up with two close friends for breakfast. “That morning, I arrived early and decided to go to the convenience store. I went in, picked out a few tickets from the display case, and headed back to my truck to play them,” he recalled while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his windfall. “When I scratched the last one and uncovered a prize of $80,000, I couldn’t believe it!”
Throughout breakfast, Gary kept the news to himself. “After we finished eating, I asked my friends to come to my truck and told them I wanted them to double-check something for me. They looked at the ticket and both of them confirmed I had won $80,000.”
Gary plans to pay some bills and share a portion of his winnings with loved ones.
The winning ticket was purchased at The Old Railroad Stop on Hiawatha Line in Hiawatha.
