PETERBOROUGH-A transport truck driver was charged following after attempting a u-turn on Highway 7.
On Thursday October 8, 2026, at approximately 10:00pm, the Peterborough County OPP responded to a traffic hazard on Highway 7 just north of Sherbrooke Street in Cavan-Monaghan Township, where a transport truck attempted to conduct a U-turn according to police.
The transport was operating with a ‘b-train’ trailer and while attempting to turn around, stretched their airline to the point of breaking causing the airbrakes to lock.
The disabled transport blocked traffic in both directions until it was able to be removed.
The driver was charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
